Jinjer’s Duel Tour Brings Unrelenting Metal Mayhem to Sacramento

7/7/26 - On Sunday, July 5, Ace of Spades in Sacramento played host to Jinjer's North American Duel Tour, featuring an outstanding lineup including JINJER, CRYSTAL LAKE, and ENTHEOS. With three powerhouse modern metal acts sharing the bill, the venue was packed as Northern California's metal community turned out for a night of crushing riffs, blistering vocals, and nonstop energy.

Kicking off the evening was Entheos, a band that continues to prove why they are one of the most exciting forces in progressive death metal. Frontwoman Chaney Crabb immediately commanded the stage, opening the set with "All For Nothing." Her remarkable vocal range was on full display, effortlessly shifting from soaring clean melodies to punishing growls and piercing screams within a single phrase.

Crabb's performance was matched by the precision and intensity of guitarists Michael Stancel and Scott Carstairs, whose crushing riffs echoed throughout the venue. By the time they reached mid-set, the crowd had erupted, with a mosh pit opening and the first crowd surfers making their way toward the barricade.

Entheos maintained that momentum throughout their ten-song set, delivering one crushing performance after another. Their musicianship, technical precision, and stage presence made for an unforgettable opening set that perfectly prepared the audience for what was to come.

  2. Empty on the Inside

  3. Absolute Zero

  4. Hell Is a Part of Me

Next up was Tokyo's CRYSTAL LAKE, making an unforgettable impression for anyone experiencing the band live for the first time (like myself!). Riding the momentum of their latest album, The Weight of Sound, released earlier this year, Crystal Lake delivered one of the night's most energetic performances.

With the band currently performing with guest vocalists, Sacramento was treated to an appearance by Myke Terry (Volumes, Fire From The Gods), whose commanding vocals fit seamlessly with Crystal Lake's explosive sound.

Founding guitarist Yudai Miyamoto refused to stay confined to the stage, climbing onto the bar to perform just feet away from fans in one of the night's standout moments. Terry encouraged the audience to send as many crowd surfers as possible toward the front, and they happily obliged. Massive credit to the Ace of Spades security team, who handled the constant stream of crowd surfers with professionalism and remarkable efficiency throughout the set.

Although I wasn't able to obtain Crystal Lake's setlist, one thing is certain: if they aren't already on your playlist, they should be.

As intense as the evening had already been, it all built toward the arrival of Ukrainian metal powerhouse JINJER.

The lights dimmed. Vlad Ulasevich's drums thundered through the darkness before Roman Ibramkhalilov's crushing guitar riffs joined in. As the lights slowly rose, vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk emerged to deafening cheers, launching the band's set with "Duel."

From that moment forward, Jinjer delivered exactly what fans had been waiting for. Shmayluk once again demonstrated why she is considered one of metal's most versatile vocalists, effortlessly alternating between haunting clean vocals and devastating growls. Ibramkhalilov's technical guitar work dazzled throughout the evening, while bassist Eugene Abdukhanov anchored every song with remarkable precision and groove. Behind them, Ulasevich's relentless drumming powered the band's 16 song set from beginning to end.

While the tour supports the band's latest album, Duel, Jinjer wisely balanced newer material with fan favorites including "Green Serpent," "Fast Draw," "Perennial," and "Sit, Stay, Roll Over." The result was a setlist that celebrated both the band's evolution and the songs that helped establish them as one of modern metal's premier live acts.

This marked Jinjer's first North American headlining tour since 2024, making their return all the more special. Sacramento welcomed them back with overwhelming enthusiasm, and the band rewarded the audience with a performance that was nothing short of masterful.

For fans of modern metal, deathcore, and progressive heavy music, this was one of the strongest touring packages to come through Sacramento this year. Three outstanding bands, three unforgettable performances, and a crowd that matched the energy from the opening note to the finale made for a night that won't soon be forgotten.
