Nonpoint Was On Point in Roseville

Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville, California, has hosted many, many shows that I have had the privilege of photographing or simply attending as a fan. Last Tuesday, August 25, 2026, was one of those nights when I was both a photographer and a longtime fan of all three bands playing that night: (Hed) P.E., Spineshank, and NONPOINT.
The place was crowded, with both mezzanines full. People were standing next to each other, shoulders touching. Usually, people don’t show up for the opening band, but tonight was special, and the first band was not to be missed!
Opening the night was Huntington Beach’s (Hed) P.E. Vocalist (and founder) Jared Gomes wasted no time launching the show into a high-energy ball of chaos. “Bartender” was a virtual sing-along (myself included!) that almost drowned out the band itself. The band displayed the high energy it has been known to bring since 1994!
Having (Hed) P.E. open for NONPOINT is crrazzzy! If you know, you know, but if you don’t know, I am going to tell you: This band is a draw all on its own. They have performed at festivals both in the U.S. and Europe and have been a kingpin of the punk rock/hardcore scene for over 30 years! It was a real treat to get to see them in such an intimate setting. I was flabbergasted!

As if that weren’t enough, I was equally flabbergasted to witness Los Angeles’ SPINESHANK rip through the stage next. Like a well-oiled machine, despite a few lineup changes, SPINESHANK kept the momentum of chaos that was started by (Hed) P.E.
Vocalist (and founding member) Jonny Santos’ ability to seamlessly switch from harsh and aggressive vocals to clean singing is awe-inspiring. When the band played “New Disease,” the crowd lost it, chanting, “Nobody, nobody, nobody, nobody changed my mind—and it leads me to a New Disease!”
Spineshank is in the throes of celebrating the 25th anniversary of its 2000 album, “The Height of Callousness,” which essentially made Spineshank a nu-metal household name. The band has been part of the scene since 1996. If you get a chance to see them, do it!
On a side note, beginning in October, (Hed) P.E. is co-headlining a tour through Europe. With—guess who???? Yep. SPINESHANK! The run will begin on October 13 in Paris, France, and continue through Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, and the United Kingdom before ending on October 31 in London.
Finally, it was time for NONPOINT to jump onstage. Formed in 1997, the Floridians came out swinging with 13 songs, including some from the album set to be released September 18!
Vocalist (and also co-founder) Elias Soriano made every attempt to ensure fans had direct access to him, interacting with as many fans as possible. Drummer (and the other co-founder) Robb Rivera had his drum kit facing stage right. I don’t know why, but it was a cramped stage, so maybe it was for space. Either way, it was nice being able to see the drummer from a position other than between cymbals!
Jaysin Zeilstra and Rasheed Thomas were both nonstop riff energy and caught flight a few times without missing a beat! Bassist Adam Woloszyn provided all the necessary flair and power needed for the band to command the entire stage. Fans could not get enough!
The band played two songs from their upcoming album: “Is It” and “Red Yeti.” If these two songs are any indication of what we can expect, it will be a phenomenal album filled with groove-driven, heavy riffs and socially charged lyrics.
NONPOINT closed with “Bullet With A Name.” Always a crowd favorite.
As I mentioned earlier, NONPOINT has their 11th studio album, “The Last Word,” coming out on September 18, 2026, via their independent label, 361 Degrees Records, and it has been promised that the album will feature 10 new, previously unreleased tracks!
Only having three bands made the entire show much more intimate and intimidating. Honestly, this was perhaps one of the better shows I have seen all year.
